How to Speed Up Slow Computer During Start Up

Upon turning on your computer, it should only take a few seconds for your programs to load. If your computer is taking some time to start up, you may need to do a slow computer fix to bring your system back to normal operations.

Before you try to search the web for ways on how to fix slow computer, first determine if indeed your computer has a slow start up.

  • Compare the time it takes your computer to start up with another computer with the same specifications (e.g. RAM, operating system). It might be that you are running an operating system that is too heavy for your computer’s memory.
  • Make sure that you have adequate power supply to run your computer.
  • Make sure that you are using updated hardware and hardware.
  • Make sure that you are using applications completely supported by your operating system.

If the physical checks on your computers still does not speed up slow computer, “clean up your computer” with all clutter and useless things. After using your computer for some time, there are definitely useless software, programs, files and folders that are within your computer system that slows it down.

There are numerous tools and software available that can make your computer run fast. Run the basic tests mentioned above to wean out the basic causes of a slow computer. After running those tests and still your computer is slow at start up, have your hardware checked. There might be some extreme issues affecting the performance of your computer.
